What is Online Safety?
Online Safety is about safety with mobile and computer devices. At Godwin Junior School we take an active role in Online Safety to make our children safer when using new technologies. There are a great many resources available to help parents and carers support their children to adopt safe practices.
We held an Online Safety workshop via Zoom for parents and carers on Thursday 12th November 2020. Please watch this recording to find out more about how to protect your child when they are using devices.
We have produced an Online Safety brochure to support parents and carers to keep their children as safe as possible when navigating our ever-changing digital world. We hope that the information about certain websites and apps will be helpful.
The Think You Know website aims to make online parenting simple. Even if the only search engine you use is a pair of binoculars, do not despair! Here you’ll find practical tips and simple guidance.
The Digital Parenting website and magazines offer parents and carers information and advice about the latest digital technologies and the kind of challenges children and teenagers might face in their digital world. Their ‘Expert View’ articles, ‘How to’ guides and ‘Take Action’ checklists aim to help you to stay up-to-date and feel more confident about getting involved
The Parent Zone website aims to make life easier for parents and carers by developing information to help them make informed choices about a wide range of issues.
Know IT All for Parents is designed to really help you as a parent or carer keep up to date with how children are using the Internet, and support them in using these new exciting services safely and responsibly.
The Parents Protect website is an information and resources website which aims to help parents and carers keep their children as safe in the virtual world as in the real world.
